JONES-DIXON is first Black man to serve as a City Councilor and was appointed on July 21st. Gresham's City Council voted on Monday, July 20th to raise the Black Lives Matter flag at City Hall and came under attack from the Multnomah County Republicans. The Multnomah County Republicans' Chairman JAMES BUCHAL posted on their website the following on July 21st; "The Multnomah County Republican Party (MCRP) warns the people of Gresham that their entire City Council is either clueless or committed to overthrowing the Constitution. The City Council has unanimously approved the flying of a flag that constitutes the official logo of a radical Marxist "Black Lives Matters" group. The distinctive "three yellow stripe" flag Gresham is flying is the same flag sold on the Marxist group's website."
