A Black Lives Matter supporter holds a sign which reads, "Racism isn't born, it's taught," during the Black Lives Matter Peaceful Family Rally at Gresham (OR) City Hall on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. The event, which drew close to two hundred people, also celebrated this week's appointment of the city's first Black man to serve as Councilor on the Gresham City Council. Vince Jones-Dixon was appointed on July 21, 2020. The council recently drew sharp criticism from the Multnomah County Republicans for unanimously agreeing to fly the Black Lives Matter flag over City Hall.
