Mask mandates are on the rise in the United States which has the highest COVID19 infection rate and is failing to contain the virus. Without consistently clear leadership from the federal government, local and state officials have to manage the crisis on their own. Some states have mask mandates. These photos are of people from a variety of backgrounds who follow those mandates. These are their stories shared in hopes of containing the coronavirus. Racial Injustice Portland Oregon. Members of the Wall of Moms were out in force on Tuesday evening in Portland, Oregon. Hundreds of mothers gathered downtown and marched to the Justice Center where they were joined by other protesters shouting, "Black Lives Matter" "Feds Stay Clear, Moms are Here," and "Hey, Hey Ho Ho These Racist Cops Have Got to Go." Protests in Portland, Oregon have been almost entirely peaceful recently, and the presence of federal officers has become a flashpoint. Violence only begins once the federal officers step outside and begin to attack protesters.

Rural America for Black Lives is a collection of Black Lives Matter rallies in smaller towns and cities in Oregon and Washington State. Black Lives Matter movements have sprung up around the country in smaller, overwhelmingly white communities. Hood River, Oregon held a protest march and die-in on Oak Street. Demonstrators chalk outlines of their bodies during the die-in. Healthcare providers knelt for eight minutes and forty-six seconds during a White Coats for Black Lives protest outside of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.
