Racial Injustice Portland. Demonstration protests began in Portland, Oregon two days after the May 25th murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. They continue over 60 days and counting with no end in sight. Thousands of people gathered in Peninsula Park for a vigil and then marched to downtown Portland where protesters and police clashed. Subsequent demonstrations have been more peaceful after the two-day curfew was lifted. Federal officers arrived in late July and the conflict has exploded. While there are still peaceful marches and protests happening in Portland and around Oregon, every night in front of the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse, federal officers exit around 11pm-midnight and attack protesters with tear gas, rubber pullets, pepper balls and stun grenades. The city is under siege and even local leaders have not successfully gotten the feds to go home. (All images available in color)

Racial Injustice Portland Oregon. Members of the Wall of Moms were out in force on Tuesday evening in Portland, Oregon. Hundreds of mothers gathered downtown and marched to the Justice Center where they were joined by other protesters shouting, "Black Lives Matter" "Feds Stay Clear, Moms are Here," and "Hey, Hey Ho Ho These Racist Cops Have Got to Go." Protests in Portland, Oregon have been almost entirely peaceful recently, and the presence of federal officers has become a flashpoint. Violence only begins once the federal officers step outside and begin to attack protesters.

Rural America for Black Lives is a collection of Black Lives Matter rallies in smaller towns and cities in Oregon and Washington State. Black Lives Matter movements have sprung up around the country in smaller, overwhelmingly white communities. Hood River, Oregon held a protest march and die-in on Oak Street. Demonstrators chalk outlines of their bodies during the die-in. Healthcare providers knelt for eight minutes and forty-six seconds during a White Coats for Black Lives protest outside of Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.
